Truecaller Lets AI Answer Calls with Your Own Voice, Thanks to Microsoft

Truecaller has partnered with Microsoft to allow AI answer calls in users’ voice through Microsoft’s Personal Voice from Azure AI Speech.
For years, Truecaller’s AI Assistant has made call management convenient, however, greetings were limited to pre-recorded, robotic voices. 
With Personal Voice, users can now record a short voice sample within the Truecaller app. This sample is then used by Microsoft’s Azure AI Speech technology to create a digital replica of users’ own voice. This can be used by the AI Assistant to answer calls, screen unknown numbers, or leave messages on users’ behalf.
Personal Voice is currently in a public beta phase, available exclusively to Truecaller Premium subscribers. Upgrading to Premium gives users a variety of additional features like ad-blocking, call recording, and the ability to incognito browse caller profiles. 
Setting up Personal Voice is a user-friendly process. Simply update the Truecaller app to the latest version, navigate to the Assistant settings, and follow the prompts to record your voice sample. The process takes just a few minutes, and soon you’ll be able to answer calls with a familiar voice, even when you’re unavailable.

The Personal Voice feature is currently undergoing public beta testing in select regions, including the US, Canada, India, and South Africa. This phased rollout allows Truecaller and Microsoft to gather valuable user feedback and ensure a smooth global launch. 
Users in these regions who subscribe to Truecaller Premium can access the beta and experiment with the feature. Based on the feedback and testing results, Truecaller plans to expand Personal Voice functionality to all users in the beta regions soon. 
Following a successful regional launch, a global rollout is planned, making this innovative technology available to Truecaller users worldwide.
